The national day observance ceremony was on 9th August 2009, Saturday. Fourteen of us met our teacher officer at compass point before taking the LRT to farmway station. On our way there we saw schools from our areas like
The national day observance ceremony was held at the open space opposite Anchorvale Community Centre. Before the start of the event, we saw people flying kites and playing rugby. Goodie bags were given out too. There were games stalls too but due to the large number of people queuing up for the games, we decided to give up and check out other things.
We then decided to queue up for cute balloons. They can pick any design they liked, example heart shape, dog, sword and even flower. The scenery there was excellent and brilliant so we took a lot of photographs for memento sake.
By the time we finish taking our photos and queuing up for the balloons, our teacher officer informed us that it was time to wait for the arrival of the guest of honour of the event, Prime Minster Lee Hsien Loong. Prime Minster Lee Hsien Loong arrived in a stylish white colour car. Everyone welcomed him by a few cycles of warm applause. We also stood up as a sign of respect for him. We also took photographs of him walking at the aisle. The national song was played and we sang the national anthem with pride. We also said the pledge proudly too.
We also took group photos with the other schools. This event involved the races for the four different groups, different religious and age group people. This is indeed heartwarming as this proved that
